Sources & Fact-Checking

Sources are the foundation of every War Machine History article.

Source preference

We prioritize official histories, museum collections, archival documents, unit records, reputable books, scholarly research and well-documented oral histories. Secondary web sources are used cautiously and cross-checked when possible.

How sources appear

Each substantial article should include a Sources and Further Reading section. Image credits should identify the archive, museum, photographer or license whenever known.

Uncertainty

Approximate routes, disputed details and reconstructed scenes are labeled as such. A compelling story is never a reason to present uncertainty as fact.
